What a day !!
We were so lucky today in the Red S. class as our dear friend Noel Higgins took us off on a wonderful trip out.. Where else would you go to on a lovely warm day but off down to Cobh. The first stop for us was in to Cobh Heritage Centre and the very kind lady at the desk, Marianne let us take the tour. We really enjoyed all the sounds and we all had a listen in to the telephones to hear people talking about the titanic.
Next stop was the maritime museum in the train station, this is a little hidden gem, and what did we spot ? but the wonderful port of cork project that the purple and white classes entered into the competition. We saw all the other entrants and we’re very proud of our friends for winning best art project because the competition was stiff there were some very good entries.
Then we took a wander in the beautiful sun out along the waters edge passed the beautiful Royal Princess that towered over us. We made our way to the new playground and we had great fun on the accessible roundabout, then we had a turn on the sea saw.. There is a roundy basket swing and a seated basket swing too. Lots of things for us to play on.
After our play ground fun we headed back in to town to the beautiful Commodore Hotel for a gorgeous lunch. Everybody there was so helpful, from helping us to get in to the hotel, to setting up our own table , to bringing us beautiful food or heating up our food.
We are so grateful to all the people that made our trip to Cobh so enjoyable. Check out some of our picture here.
