At the end of September this year we were, again, so lucky to have over 20 staff members of G.S.K. (GlaxoSmithKline)come to our school to do lots of badly needed jobs for us.
G.S.K. have been looking after us since 2012 and we are so grateful to them for everything they have done for us over the years from painting classrooms to surprising the children at Easter with Easter eggs and balloons, oh and let’s not forget the impromptu sing songs.
This September they arrived early and got straight down to work. Firstly they painted our Assembly/P.E. Hall which as many of you that have seen it will know it is no small job. It looks so lovely and fresh now. They painted the steps and railings at the front of the school. Some volunteers washed the windows all along our senior corridor.
This summer we relocated our soft play room and they painted this new room for us, and just in case they hadn’t done enough for us they also repaired our Go-Karts even taking a wheel off to Blackpool to have a puncture repaired. As you can imagine the children were thrilled to have the Go-Karts up and running again and can be seen whizzing around the playground most days while the weather is fine.
Every time the volunteers come to our school we as staff are just blown away by their generosity, each and every one of them come smiling, they supply everything they need for the jobs they do including paints, paint brushes, buckets and sponges etc…
We would like to say a huge and heartfelt Thank You to everybody that has come from G.S.K. throughout the years. Everything you do for our school big or small is greatly appreciated by both children and staff.
